Siesta Beach – Sarasota, Florida

Located in the historic city of Sarasota on Florida’s west coast, Siesta Beach is within reach of some of the finest restaurants, shops, and museums in the area. The clear water and wide stretches of sand are frequently ideal spots for beach volleyball, lounging, and running. Only about an hour and a half south of Tampa, Sarasota offers the opportunity to escape city life for a day without forgoing the amenities of fine dining, culture, and nightlife.

Coopers Beach – Southampton, New York

Empty subway platforms, restaurant tables, and city streets are some of the first signs of summer as New Yorkers leave everyday life behind and venture to the pristine beaches and quaint towns of the Hamptons. Despite its popularity, Southampton has managed to curb commercial development close to the shore in order to preserve its main attraction. Try not to be fooled by the beach’s beauty, though; the water has been known to have unpredictable currents. Bring bicycles, boogie boards and a camera and join the crowd for a dynamic New York summer experience.

Coronado Beach – San Diego, California

Coronado Beach has long been a vacation spot for tourists and locals who escape the city life of San Diego by taking the short drive over the Bay Bridge, or hopping on the ferry from Third Street. Once across the Bay, visitors are just a short walk from the Coronado Marriot, Candela’s Marketplace, and a variety of restaurants on the water. The famous Coronado Beach on the Pacific Ocean is about a mile west of the ferry landing and is known for the Hotel del Coronado, a luxurious waterfront resort with scenic restaurants and bars that are available to hotel guests and to the public. Seasoned beachgoers advise that visitors should arrive at the ferry by 11am on weekends to beat the crowds, and stay until sunset to enjoy beautiful views from the Hotel del Coronado.

South Beach – Florida

Welcome to Miami, where summer temperatures make the occasional dip in the water, search for shade, or icy cold beverage a must. South Beach is famous for the affordably priced Art-Deco hotels that line Collins and Ocean Drive, the brilliantly white sand of its mile-long beach, and a night-life that has no time constraints. Beach activities surpass the norm with surfing lessons, parasailing, or joining in on the Raleigh Hotel’s constant Saint Tropez-style pool side party. To get out of the sun, consider a visit to the Versace Mansion, a walking tour of the town’s historical sites, or a meal at one of the area’s world-famous restaurants; beginning July 15th, the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swimsuit Show is an added attraction.

The beach is fifteen to thirty minutes from nearby Westwood, Beverly Hills, and downtown Los Angeles (dependent on the infamous LA traffic). Although the hotels located just across the street from the water’s edge, the restaurants scattered between them, and the beach itself are great places for celebrity sightings and movie shoots, the Santa Monica Pier remains one of the area’s main attractions. Be sure to visit this year, as September 9th marks the Pier’s 100th Anniversary.

Since only three hundred visitors are permitted on the island at once, guests can enjoy the soft sand and abundant wildlife, most notably a herd of 250 wild horses, free from crowds.
