The temperatures are dropping here in Wilton, CT and the chilly weather means it’s time to think about holiday plans, family dinners, and gift ideas. It’s also a time to remember that the holiday comforts and traditions we enjoy each year don’t have to be rare exceptions for those who are less fortunate.
This Thanksgiving season, Onward Healthcare and Onward Search opened their closets and donated coats to support the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, located in nearby Bridgeport, CT. The Bridgeport Rescue Mission assists hungry, homeless, and addicted people throughout Fairfield County Connecticut, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Led by the proud members of the “Coat Committee” (below), Onward employees from the Wilton, CT office donated everything they could for the first two weeks of November.

From winter coats and outer wear to food items and canned goods, the Onward family demonstrated more generosity and kindness than our office hallway could handle. (This picture doesn’t do it justice.)

At the end of the two weeks, there were over 400 winter items and an abundance of food ready to deliver in time for Thanksgiving. Betsey Corey, Community Relations Manager at the Bridgeport Rescue Mission, informed us that our collection marked a record for the most coats donated by a company in Fairfield County. Needless to say, we are deeply moved by and sincerely proud of such recognition.
Ultimately, the real credit goes to the Bridgeport Rescue Mission for their tireless dedication to helping those who are in need. Our seasonal donation pales in comparison to their inspirational 365 days a year commitment. From the entire Onward Family to yours, have a wonderful, happy and safe Thanksgiving Holiday!
